Table Runner
Materials:
- A length of burlap or linen fabric
- Fresh or dried greenery (pine, cedar, eucalyptus, etc.)
- Fresh or dried berries (cranberries, holly berries, etc.)
- Ribbon
- Hot glue gun or floral wire
- Scissors
- Ruler
Instructions:
- Measure and Cut: Measure the length of your table and cut the fabric accordingly. Add a few extra inches on each end for draping.
- Arrange the Greenery: Lay the fabric flat on a work surface. Start arranging the greenery along the centre of the fabric, leaving some space on the edges. Secure the greenery with hot glue or floral wire.
- Add Berries: Fill in the gaps between the greenery with clusters of berries. Secure them with hot glue or floral wire.
- Incorporate Ribbon: Tie ribbons around the greenery or create bows to add a festive touch. You can also use ribbon to create a border along the edges of the runner.
- Finishing Touches: Once you're happy with the arrangement, adjust the greenery, berries, and ribbons as needed.
Tips:
- Choose the Right Fabric: Burlap and linen are popular choices for table runners, as they are durable and add a rustic touch.
- Fresh or Dried Greenery: You can use fresh or dried greenery for your table runner. Fresh greenery will add a natural touch, while dried greenery will last longer.
- Colour Palette: Consider the colour scheme of your table setting when choosing your greenery, berries, and ribbon.
- Personalise Your Runner: Add personal touches, such as family heirlooms or personalised ornaments.
- Care for Fresh Greenery: If using fresh greenery, mist it with water daily to keep it fresh.
By following these simple steps, you can create a beautiful and festive table runner that will add a touch of elegance to your holiday table.
