Green Bean Casserole with Crispy Shallots
Ingredients:
- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup crispy fried shallots
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the green beans and cook for 5 minutes, or until tender-crisp. Drain well.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked green beans, melted butter, milk, onion, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Bake for 30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and set.
- Sprinkle with chopped parsley and crispy fried shallots.
- Serve immediately.
