Upcycled Fruit Leather

Upcycled Fruit Leather is a delicious way to reduce food waste. It's made from pureed and dehydrated fruit scraps. This snack is a great way to get your daily dose of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

Ingredients:

1 cup fruit scraps (such as apple peels, banana peels, mango peels, etc.)

1/4 cup water

1/4 cup honey (optional)

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 170°F (77°C).
  2. In a blender, puree the fruit scraps and water until smooth.
  3. If desired, add the honey and vanilla extract.
  4. Spread the fruit puree evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Dehydrate the fruit puree in the oven for 6-8 hours, or until it is completely dry and leathery.
  6. Once the fruit leather is dry, cut it into strips or squares.
  7. Store the fruit leather in an airtight container at room temperature.

  • If the fruit leather is too sticky, you can add a little bit of cornstarch or tapioca starch to the puree before dehydrating it.
  • Store the fruit leather in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
