Flower Rope with Cream Pink

Flower Rope

Materials:

Fresh flowers (choose a mix that are sturdy and can hold their shape for a while):

Cream pink flowers (small blooms, 10-15 stems): Spray roses, Carnations (light pink), Wax-flowers

Pink flowers (medium blooms, 5-8 stems): Peonies (light pink), Garden roses (pink)

Red flowers (accent blooms, 3-5 stems): Gerbera daisies (red), Ranunculus (red)

Bamboo leaves (fresh or dried, 10-12 leaves) - Choose leaves of varying sizes

Floral wire (22 gauge or similar)

Floral tape (green)

Scissors

Ribbon (optional, for hanging or decoration)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Flowers and Leaves:
    • Cut the flower stems diagonally with sharp scissors, leaving about 1-2 inches long.
    • Remove any excess leaves from the lower half of the flower stems.
    • If using fresh bamboo leaves, trim the stems to a manageable length (around 3-4 inches). Dried bamboo leaves can be used as is.
  2. Create the Flower Base:
    • Cut a length of floral wire about 3 times the desired length of your final flower rope.
    • Secure one end of the wire by wrapping it around itself tightly a few times.
    • Start with the cream pink flowers. Using floral tape, attach the first flower stem securely to the base of the wire, wrapping the tape several times around the stem and wire.
  3. Build the Floral Rope:
    • Continue attaching flowers, alternating between cream pink, pink, and red flowers. Try to position the flowers so they bloom in different directions, creating a full and textured look.
    • As you add flowers, incorporate the bamboo leaves by weaving them in between the flower stems. Use floral tape to secure the bamboo leaves to the wire base.
  4. Secure and Finish:
    • Once you've reached your desired length, use floral tape to securely wrap the remaining exposed wire at the end.
    • (Optional) Tie a ribbon around one end of the flower rope for hanging or decoration.

Tips:

  • Choose flowers with a sturdy stem that can hold their weight for a few hours.
  • Work with fresh flowers shortly before you need the floral rope for the best results.
  • If using fresh flowers, keep the floral rope cool and misted with water to extend its life.
  • You can customise this design by using different flower colours and types, or adding other decorative elements like berries or greenery.
  • Practice attaching the flowers and leaves securely before starting the main assembly.

With a little creativity, you can create a beautiful and unique floral rope to add a touch of nature and elegance to your event!
