Mini Quiche Lorraine is a delightful bite-sized version of the classic French dish. It's perfect for parties, brunches, or a quick and satisfying meal. The rich, savoury filling and flaky crust make it a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients:

For the crust:

  • 1 package (10 ounces) frozen puff pastry sheets, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten

For the filling:

  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 cup grated Gruyère cheese
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare the crust: Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface. Cut out circles using a 3-inch round cutter. Place the circles in muffin tin cups.
  3. Brush with egg: Brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg.
  4. Add filling: In a bowl, combine the crumbled bacon, grated cheese, heavy cream, eggs, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  5. Fill the crusts: Divide the filling evenly among the pastry cups, filling them about 3/4 full.
  6. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown.
  7. Cool and serve: Let the quiches cool slightly in the tin before serving.
