Vertical Garden Terrines
A visually stunning and flavourful dessert!
These layered terrines showcase the beauty and taste of edible flowers and herbs grown in vertical gardens. The vibrant colours and delicate flavours create a truly unique and memorable dessert.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup edible flowers (e.g., rose petals, lavender, nasturtiums)
- 1 cup fresh herbs (e.g., mint, basil, thyme)
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions:
- Prepare the terrine moulds: Grease small terrine moulds or ramekins.
- Make the flower layer: In a small bowl, combine the edible flowers and honey. Let it sit for 10 minutes, then strain the honey and discard the flowers.
- Make the herb layer: In another small bowl, combine the fresh herbs and lemon juice. Let it sit for 10 minutes, then strain the lemon juice and discard the herbs.
- Make the cream cheese layer: In a third bowl, combine the cream cheese, Greek yogurt, powdered sugar, and water. Beat until smooth and creamy.
- Assemble the terrines: Layer the flower honey, herb lemon juice, and cream cheese mixture in the prepared moulds. Repeat the layers until the moulds are full.
- Chill: Refrigerate the terrines for at least 2 hours, or overnight, to set.
- Serve: Unmold the terrines and serve immediately.
