Approximately 2 dozen roses (a mix of pink and cream colours. Choose different shades of pink for more visual interest)
Fresh greenery (optional, such as eucalyptus, baby's breath, or ferns, to add texture and depth)
Instructions:
- Prep the foam: Soak the floral foam in water for at least 30 minutes, allowing it to fully absorb the water. This keeps the roses fresh. Cut the soaked foam into a heart shape using a sharp knife.
Tip: Use a template or draw a light outline on the foam to ensure a symmetrical heart shape.
- Prepare the roses: Using sharp floral shears, cut the stems diagonally at about 1 inch from the base. This angled cut helps the roses absorb water more efficiently. Remove any thorns from the lower portion of the stem that will be inserted into the foam.
Tip: For a more uniform look, trim the stems to a similar length.
- Build the heart: Starting at the outer edge of the heart-shaped foam, insert roses individually. Push them firmly but gently into the foam, working your way inwards in a circular pattern. Alternate pink and cream roses for a visually pleasing design.
Tip: Play with the rose placement! Tuck some rose heads deeper into the foam for a fuller look, and let others stand taller for a more dynamic arrangement.
